1. Introduction
Summit Arts Collective is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children involved in our programs and activities. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all students.
2. Respect for Others and Behavior Expectations
Treat all individuals with respect, kindness, and courtesy, including fellow students, teachers, volunteers, and visitors.
Embrace diversity and create an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment for all to learn and grow.
- Do not use offensive or inappropriate language, and be mindful of the impact of your words on others.
Follow instructions given by authority figures, whether they are teachers, volunteers, or other designated leaders.
Demonstrate a willingness to participate to the best of your ability and challenge yourself to take reasonable risks in order to learn and grow.
Be considerate of those with sensory sensitivity. Keep noise levels appropriate for the setting and activity.
Respect the physical, emotional, personal, and digital boundaries of others.
3. Respect for Property
Treat any rehearsal, classroom, and performance space Summit Arts Collective uses with care and respect.
Only use the entrances, stairwells, bathrooms, and classrooms designated for use by Summit Arts Collective.
Only water is allowed during Summit Arts Collective activities. Snacks will only be allowed in a designated snack area.
Clean up any messes created during activities to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Handle costumes, props, set pieces, instruments, sheet music, art supplies, and any other material used with care, returning them in the same condition they were received.
4. Safety
Do not engage in any illegal activities.
Do not engage in any activities that would cause physical harm to another person or yourself.
Do not engage in any activities that would cause damage to the personal property of other students, teachers, and volunteers.
Do not engage in any activities that would cause damage to the property of Summit Arts Collective, St. John’s Episcopal Church, or any other location and organization that provides space and materials for Summit Arts Collective.
At all times, students will remain in designated space(s) to ensure supervision.
5. Consequences
To ensure the safety of all students, teachers, and volunteers, and with consideration of other program participants, violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed by a verbal warning and appropriate disciplinary action including but not limited to temporary removal from participation or of privileges.
Parents will be made aware in writing of any violation of this Code of Conduct.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from Summit Arts Collective activities and programs without a refund of tuition or program fee.
6. Adults
Summit Arts Collective is a safe space for families to engage in the arts.
Adults at Summit Arts Collective are to model the same standards of behavior that we ask of our attending students. Parents, teachers, and other attending adults are expected to maintain a code of conduct that embodies the qualities of kindness, respect, compassion and patience, both with the children as well as with one another, at all times during Summit Arts Collective programs, activities, and events. Yelling in anger, swearing at others, name-calling, and otherwise aggressive behaviors are strictly prohibited. Failure to abide by these standards will result in total restriction from any of our future programs, activities, and events.
