Terrified of public speaking? This is the group for you. Love speaking in front of crowds? You’ll fit in here too!
At the SAC Teen Speech Club, you’ll have the opportunity to improve your speaking skills in front of any size group, boost your self-confidence, and give & receive constructive feedback to help fast-track your development while supporting your peers.
Every meeting is structured the same, but the content is wildly different each session! Participants will have the choice of delivering a prepared speech (or performance), giving a short impromptu “table topic,” and/or taking on a minor meeting support role (ex: telling a joke, reading a quote, or tallying spoken filler words like “ah” and “um”).
Meeting format is based on the Toastmasters International model, and every meeting can be a combination of hilarious, suspenseful, moving, inspiring, and most important, fun! (First-time attendees are welcome to either take part, or quietly sit and observe without participating, to feel things out.) The environment is always positive, inclusive, encouraging, and safe, and you’ll pick up skills that you’ll use the rest of your life!

Join us for an action-packed day of learning the art of unarmed stage combat! In this workshop, students will dive into the basics of stage combat, starting with essential safety protocols like stage falls and partnering techniques. From there, we’ll explore hand-to-hand combat moves such as punches, slaps, and hair pulls, all designed to look realistic while keeping performers safe.
Participants will have the opportunity to rehearse choreographed fight sequences, combining their new skills into dynamic scenes. The day will culminate in a showcase at 3:00 PM, where students can demonstrate their fight sequences for friends and family.
Whether you’re new to stage combat or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a safe and fun environment to learn the techniques behind thrilling fight scenes. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to develop your stagecraft!
Participants should bring a packed lunch, a refillable water bottle, and wear athletic clothing and shoes suitable for action; jewelry must be removed, and long hair should be tied back for safety.
